La Federazione Italiana dello Sport Universitario scende in campo in ambito europeo con il progetto “EUSIM – European University Sports Inclusion Manager” finanziato dall’Unione Europea all’interno del Bando Erasmus+ Sport 2025.

L’iniziativa risponde alla priorità Erasmus “Inclusione e Diversità” e nasce sulla base delle evidenze osservate all’interno del progetto IUG – InclUniGames – svolto da FederCUSI sul territorio italiano nel biennio 2024-2025 che aveva condotto, tra gli altri risultati, alla pubblicazione delle “Linee Guida per Eventi Sportivi Inclusivi”.

Il progetto EUSIM, co-progettato insieme al partner CMA – Creative Management Association – sarà portato avanti insieme alle Federazioni Sportive Universitarie (NUSF) di Lituania (LSSA) ed Estonia (EASF) lungo tutto il 2026. L’obiettivo principale di EUSIM è quello di definire il profilo di una nuova figura professionale: il Manager Europeo dell’Inclusione Sportiva Universitaria, attraverso una serie di incontri di formazione e scambio di competenze e buone pratiche tra i Paesi partecipanti.

Le attività mirano a fornire un’implementazione della capacità di pensare ed agire in maniera inclusiva nel contesto sportivo universitario, migliorando l’operatività interna delle singole Federazioni Sportive Universitarie e le relazioni tra esse.  Le attività proposte si articoleranno in tre fasi distinte: la prima di definizione e coordinamento delle attività da svolgere; la seconda di sviluppo della progettualità e di approfondimento e scambio di competenze, conoscenze e buone pratiche tra i partecipanti; la terza di valutazione e divulgazione dei risultati ottenuti.

Le attività di comunicazione accompagneranno lo sviluppo del progetto e la promozione dei suoi risultati. A tal proposito, oltre alla realizzazione del Manuale del Manager Europeo dell’Inclusione Sportiva Universitaria, che riassumerà le evidenze del progetto, saranno prodotte delle “pillole video” su sport e inclusione per aumentare la consapevolezza sul tema.

Il logo di EUSIM rappresenta la dimensione collaborativa e transnazionale tra i paesi partner, esprimendo al contempo un senso di apertura e inclusione. La forma principale richiama un “abbraccio aperto”, simbolo di accoglienza e disponibilità verso nuovi partecipanti e realtà. Inoltre, questo elemento grafico richiama una “U”, riferimento al mondo universitario e al suo ruolo centrale nel progetto. La composizione è formata da tre figure umane stilizzate in movimento, che rappresentano i partner del progetto uniti da una visione comune: la partecipazione attiva e i valori di inclusione promossi attraverso lo sport. Queste figure racchiudono e proteggono le 12 stelle europee, richiamo diretto all’identità e ai valori dell’Unione Europea.

FederCUSI Launches Its First European Project

The Italian University Sports Federation is entering the European arena with the project “EUSIM – European University Sports Inclusion Manager”, Funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Sport 2025 Call for Proposals.

The initiative addresses the Erasmus+ priority of “Inclusion and Diversity” and stems from the evidence gathered through the IUG – InclUniGames project, implemented by FederCUSI throughout Italy during the 2024–2025 period. Among its outcomes was the publication of the “Guidelines for Inclusive Sports Events.”

The EUSIM project, co-designed together with partner CMA – Creative Management Association, will be carried out throughout 2026 in collaboration with the National University Sports Federations (NUSFs) of Lithuania (LSSA) and Estonia (EASF). The main objective of EUSIM is to define the profile of a new professional figure: the European University Sports Inclusion Manager, through a series of training sessions and exchanges of skills and best practices among the participating countries.

The activities aim to strengthen the ability to think and act inclusively within the university sports context, improving both the internal operations of the individual University Sports Federations and the relationships among them. The proposed activities will be structured into three distinct phases: the first focused on defining and coordinating the activities to be carried out; the second dedicated to project development, in-depth learning, and the exchange of skills, knowledge, and best practices among participants; and the third focused on the evaluation and dissemination of the results achieved.

Communication activities will accompany the development of the project and the promotion of its outcomes. In this regard, in addition to the production of the European University Sports Inclusion Manager Handbook, which will summarize the project’s findings, a series of “short video capsules” on sport and inclusion will be produced to increase awareness of the topic.

The EUSIM logo represents the collaborative and transnational dimension of the partner countries while simultaneously conveying a sense of openness and inclusion. Its main shape evokes an “open embrace,” symbolizing welcome and openness toward new participants and stakeholders. Furthermore, this graphic element recalls the letter “U,” referring to the university environment and its central role within the project. The composition consists of three stylized human figures in motion, representing the project partners united by a common vision: active participation and the values of inclusion promoted through sport. These figures enclose and protect the 12 European stars, a direct reference to the identity and values of the European Union.
